GRC/HPC Facades

GRC & HPC Benefits & product features

The design principles

At mbX, we meticulously analyse project requirements, focusing on tailored advice for each product group. We offer two primary products: GRC and HPC. Our research encompasses both aesthetic and structural considerations for a project. Each product group has unique features that we thoroughly investigate, collaborating to deliver the best facade solutions.

GRC GRADE 18 & HPC C90/C105 Features Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete

  • Environmentally friendly

Our concrete is extremely sustainable. We have documented the environmental profile of our products using the MKI value.

  • Class A1 fire resistance

GRC performs well in fire tests, achieving the highest fire resistance classification (A1). It does not burn, cannot catch fire and poses no toxic risk in case of fire.

  • Wear-resistant

The wear resistance of concrete depends on its composition. Our concrete products withstand wear from (intensive) use and exposure to extreme conditions.

  • Low maintenance

mbX elements have a smooth surface with a sleek appearance. They are high-quality facade elements that do not attract or accumulate dirt, making our facades easy to maintain.

  • Strong and lightweight

Concrete has high compressive strength, and by adding fibreglass, we can also increase its flexural strength. This allows us to create more complex geometric shapes, including double-curved panels.

  • High formability

With GRC material, designers can aim for geometrically demanding results and design freedom. The aesthetic and structural design freedom pushes the boundaries of architectural possibilities.

  • GRCA full member

mbX is a member of the GRCA, The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association. We produce our GRC products in accordance with GRCA guidelines, ensuring that we follow the best and most current production standards.

  • Flexible

Our high-quality concrete can be shaped as it hardens. The process begins with the mould in a 100% horizontal position. As the fibre-reinforced concrete transitions from a liquid consistency to a solid material, the mould is transformed into the required geometry.
